The new (January 2009) web site

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.

This incarnation of the Horus Oasis web site was created by the humble Frater Wambat, chief cook and bottle washer of Horus Oasis. Initial site creation happened during the last few days of the year 2008, while on an extended visit to Oakland, California. This little jaunt is known to Frater Wombat as "Existential Angst Tour 2009".

Thanks for the care of my body and soul during this period of gestation go to:

Those who went before

Previous incarnations of the Horus Oasis web site were created, then enhanced, by various rogues, villians and blackguards who have since melted into the shadows. Many thanks for tending the flame all those years. The members of Horus Oasis would like to see your shining faces every now and again. If you are still out there, drop us a line and tell us how things are going.

The old web site included many photos and other neat stuff from years gone by. This is all archived. It is not available in the new web site due to privacy concerns. If you need access to this archive, send an e-mail to the body master explaining what you need and why you need it.

Techie stuff

Hosting by Hostmonster.com - More bang for less buck.

Created using Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008. This program really sucks in Design mode. I spent most of my time in Source mode pounding out straight HTML and CSS. The only useful thing about this steaming pile of code is that, when doing the CSS part, suggestions popped up so I could select the element I wanted to insert. But for that saving feature, I would have used the only True and Living web editor on the face of the earth: Wordpad.

Navigation buttons created with Microsoft Powerpoint (don't ask...) and Paint.

File management and transfer using Filezilla.

Dell C640 laptop, Windows XP Professional. What the hell...the hardware was free and the software is licensed and legal.
